A Busy Couple Of Weeks

The above image is from the wedding of Vicky and Gary at Bothwell Castle on Saturday. We were a bit worried looking at the weather forecast the night before (and Scotland is always pretty reliable – when it says it’s going to rain, it rains big). Nevertheless, it held off until the ceremony started at least, allowing us to whip out the wide angle lenses to capture the castle in all of its glory, as well as shooting all of the final details, including all of the little starlings dive-bombing around. We were put to the test in low light conditions (they were married in one of the old cellars – made up to look really nice of course), but having looked at the footage we’re confident that we’ve got loads of great stuff. We’d thoroughly recommend Bothwell Castle as a great venue (Chris and Isabel at the desk are the lovely couple looking after the place) and as a place to which we’d love to go back. Thanks again to the happy couple (we haven’t anything too bad over the radio mic yet Gary) – we’ll have your final film over to you before you know it.

The week preceding that was the wedding of Derek and Katie, taking place at East Kilbride Old Parish Church, a charming little church with a very friendly and helpful church officer. Then it was on to the Dalmeny Park Country House Hotel, a grand old place, slightly out of the way, with some lovely little garden walks. I do have a confession to make – I may have taken a few sweeties from the Candy Bar – sorry guys! Shooting in the function suite/hall of mirrors was tricky, but we worked out our angles and captured the speeches (a few tears and an absolutely filthy joke from the best man regarding 50 Shades of Grey and the weather – “Sorry Granny”.) Commiserations to the new couple – they must be almost home from their honeymoon by now – it’s back to the classroom for Derek and policing the beat for Katie. Your film will be with you soon though!
